Yes, Joe, I agree with you. The chipset is half the importance in an enterprise server. In the case of Itanium, SPEC shows that the CPU alone performs under a lot of its contemporaries. The chipset, however, will make up for this in real life disk intensive or memory intensive situations. A lot can be said for a good chipset.
