Joe, Re: "I recall seeing it on just about every roadmap published."

You mean leaked roadmaps, right? I don't believe Intel publishes their roadmaps publicly.

AMD Reiterates Guidance, Profit Delayed

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE:AMD - news), the No. 2 maker of computer microprocessors, on Thursday reiterated financial guidance for the fourth quarter, but said weak demand could delay the company's return to profitability until the second quarter of 2002.

In a statement, AMD Chairman and Chief Executive W.J. Sanders said overall revenues in the fourth quarter should be flat or up by a ``high single-digit'' percentage. The outlook is the same as guidance given on October 17 when AMD reported its third quarter earnings, the company said.

Sanders added that the company expects to be profitable overall in 2002, as a cost containment and reduction program helps operating results beginning in the second quarter.

In the first quarter, Sanders said, PC processor revenues could decline from the fourth quarter because of ``seasonal patterns,'' and pricing pressures on flash memory products are expected to remain intense.
