I've posted a number of times that Intel would be better off extending the PIII and dumping the P4 - there's some overlap in our conclusions here (I wouldn't go so far as to claim we agree).

In terms of the notched gates, while they didn't take Intel all the way to .13 equivalence, they took it about 2/3's of the way. I wouldn't make too big a deal out of it, (hence the vvvbg) but given that Intel has been publicly crowing about AMD's .18 having some smaller features, it's worth remembering that their own process does too.
