As it turns out I will be making quite a few trips over the next 6 months within 500~ miles of NJ. After making one trip by plane post 9/11 I will try by car. Since I live an hour from Newark, by the time you factor in all time involved with air travel it may not be worth the hassle. I understand the low end motel business is doing very well because many people made the same decision. I imagine in one year the incremental deaths from driving will exceed the total of the 9/11 airline passengers. Everytime I drive on Route 80 or the NJ turnpike I realize it is one of the most dangerous circumstances I expose myself too.
