The decoder and the TC are in a box called front-end.

wbmw just confirmed that TC runs at half the clock speed. On the page 1-9, the decode and trace cache are in the same box.

It is getting curiouser and curioser...

They are both running at half of the MCLK.
this i can't. do you have a link which shows this to be the case ? it certainly is not in that figure. what you're saying makes sense but it is not in that figure.

Could you elaborate and substantiate? I cannot see anything on page 1-9 that states that the front-end box runs at half the MCLK.
