wanna, precisely. No one bothers to bench a machine the way it IS going to be used by a modern power user but they tout how many FPS you can get in some game that 13 year olds play. A lot of 20-40+ year olds use their computers for new things now. Editing of digital pictures they took with their cameras, encoding of their favourite CDs to MP3s so they can play them at work, downloading of stuff off the web/NGs/Ftp, burning of CDs, all of those tasks need to access the mass storage devices on that machine. There's no modern bench that reflects real usage of a Win2K/XP desktop.
