There is an analog portion to the video, unless you put that part off-chip. Because that portion is not digital, the process needs to be tweaked to allow the transistors to operate that way. In addition, the grounds need to be kept separate from the digital portion. And that can be messy...

This actually is a good Scumbria question since he was involved in that very issue.
