Why would shorts cover in a falling market...especially with a potential gravestone doji in the works?

i would think longs will wanna protect their "ill gotten gains" over the past few days

wishful thinking?

anon...I gotta go with Metsin6...any short that didn't get whipped the last few days, hung tough, and stuck w/shorts...well, I don't think they cover here....they are just beginning to get what they want..

Also, we are so close to a nasty stick...and potentially REALLY NASTY STICK...

I could see a little short-covering...but this has been some pretty good technical collapse this afternoon/so many charts rolling over...real. bears LOVE this kindof stuff (means more to come)..

Market shows anything possible, but I'd be disappointed in my bear breathen if they picked NOW to cover g, ng

I don't think so, the breach of 1840 is very ominous, would not have bailed in such a hurry with those losses if I did not feel we continue hard down. Maybe two minor bounces during the day tomorrow, but from lower prices, we may be under that 1793 before we bounce hard.

Anon: Re: "short covering into the close."

Not the same as it was a few days ago. Shorts have roasted and toasted and, like many here, have covered. Safety net has lots of holes now.
