The thing is this: If Northwood and Palomino have similar performance at equal modelages, then Northwood with 533/133MHz chipset (in Q3, and that's a 33% increase) will likely outperform Tbred or Barton with 333/166MHz chipset (which is a 25% increase).

This is assuming no ipc increase from Palomino on in the K7 family.

also keep in mind the fact that increase in performance is not linear with frequency.
