Jim
not knowing amd's formula it is hard to speculate on the future of model numbers relative to p4 performance. AMD may just as well adjust model numbers so they would always be somewhat conservative to p4 performance

Jim, I think you just stumbled on another reason that AMD was very conservative in making a 1600 MHz Palomino "only" have an XP1900+.

They don't want to use model numbers that aren't multiples of 100.

So
1533 MHz --> XP1800+ ratio 1.17 "true P4" rating 2000+, or 1.3 ratio
1600 MHz --> XP1900+ ratio 1.19
1667 MHz --> XP2000+ ratio 1.20
1733 MHz --> XP2100+ ratio 1.21
1800 MHz --> XP2200+ ratio 1.22

Since the ratios keep going up, the rating scheme will eventually reach the point where it matches P4 performance.

Even with an extra 8% performance thrown in for Northwood IPC improvement, XP2200+ should be as fast as Northwood 2200
