RE:"Jim, the Ali Magik 1 is the slowest DDR chipset out there, barely beats the SDRAM solutions. I think a SIS or nForce mobile chipset would really make sense. Does anyone know if those 2 guys are working on a mobile Athlon Chipset?"

I saw some updated reviews and it performs rather well...still maybe the slowest.
The modelhertz idea about A4s is a great idea BTW...uses the P4 against the P3. Intel is left having to explain "modelhertz" for the P3...

Constantine, Re: Ali Magik 1 is the slowest DDR chipset out there, barely beats the SDRAM solutions.

I've recently read a review of the current Magik -- said it was pretty close to the KT266A -- and a fine chipset. ASUS is supposed to be coming out with a MOBO using it.

But I can't remember where I read it.
