For life, I should pretty much know in year how good it will be. I'm about 5 keys away on the piano at the high end, I gain a key this week so the sounds and frequency perception is starting to expand. Us humans have hard time understand melody beyond 4k which is the top end of the piano. I was fooling around with my guitar, sounds very weird, not right at all, but as I kept at it, I could start to play with the sound a little, but it's far from right, and most likely will never be, but better then with my hearing aid. As far as I'm concerned talking on the phone would be the pinnacle of success.

I do have another program level to go that is currently under FDA trails. Advanced bionics calls it of all things broadband. <g> We are hearing good things about the trial. So, once the FDA gives the approval, my range of sounds will expand, and there will be less compression and frequency shifting, I hope.
