Saudi intelligence chief and Bin Laden

Former chairman of the Saudi intelligence Prince Turkey al-Faisal has stated that Osama Bin Laden has changed into a radical person after Saudi Arabia had invited the American forces to end the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.

News reports quoted prince al-Faisal as saying in an interview with the MBC broadcast on Tuesday that following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, Bin Laden proposed the organization of an army of Muslim volunteers to fight the Iraqi forces and to avoid using American forces. A step ( using the American forces) which he considered as " spoiling " the cradle of Islam.

Al-Faisal indicated the signs of change in the character of Bin Laden started to appear at that time. A matter which led to what happened from that man in this phase.

In earlier press statements, al-Faisal was quoted as saying that Saudi Arabia refused a preconditioned proposal made by the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir several years ago to hand over Bin Laden.
