Shame on those who refused to use their power to ignore and chose instead to prevent others from hearing opposing views. Life is too short to tolerate some people. A lot of folks have worked hard to build something here. Regarding preventing others from hearing some opinions, SI is a vast board. If folks have interesting things to say, I'm sure these folks that are being prevented from hearing these opinions will ferret these valuable opinions out and hear them. That is the power of the internet. TG

The "ignore" feature doesn't solve the problem of abusive posts and "spamming", since quite a lot of people reply to these. The only thing to do would be to put replies to "ignored" posts on "ignore" as well, but that would likely target too many constructive posts. There are several people on this thread whose posts are mainly gloating, abusive, derogatory or just down-right cruel. This is clearly not the forum for it and they should take their petty antics elsewhere. (all that said, I voted "No"). -fyo
