If I recall correctly, National Semiconductors developed the GTL bus upon which Intel's GTL+ bus is based. As part of the cross licensing, Nat Semi has the rights to implement GTL+

GTL+ is only an electrical specification, not a logical specification or protocol. I don't know if you were aware of this but just in case you weren't.
