One problem with the foundry model is that the foundry demands a profit. In good times they want a share of the profit, in the bad times they want a profit anyway and AMD's loss will increase.

The fabless model is another sign of AMD's desperation. Sell off the headquarters, sell pieces your business groups and now go toward fabless because you can't generate the cash necessary to build one.

I wonder when AMD will sell off the limo and Beverly Hills office of Jerry the "Where's Mine" kid.
