Going to an outside fab will guarantee a choke on performance. AMD will not be able to run a special "boutique" line to screw down their gates.

Now this is interesting... is all of the 0.13 micron bulk production foundry or is AMD actually doing some themselves???

If you look carefully at AMD's presentation, it doesn't seem to be nearly as rosy as a lot of people are trying to spin it...

That's Problem #2

Problem #3: What happens when a major server OEM asks how are you going to guarantee the Reliability and Availability of your parts when you don't control production. These are 2 legs of the RAS trio. The answer "uhhh... we are working on it" just won't fly.
