I was actually more concerned about the house to house battles. And if these reports are true, the Taliban may just run from the cities when defeat is certain. The tunnels and caves will be severely blown to bits before we enter them.

In the next two weeks we should see some decent progress.

They're surgically being taken apart. It will take some time to accomplish with minimum loss of American life. But, our military, in combination with the Northern Alliance and our allies, will get the job done.

The problem with fixed artillery is that with Jstars I believe that counter battery analysis can determine exactly where a round was fired from a single round. Also the exact nature of the firing weapon can be determines. This data can be quickly forwarded to ground and air attack assets and puff, no more artillery. Taliban only has older visual and guess estimation to fire at an enemy.

There are very few vehicles an lots of space in Afghanistan. America can survail thousands of square miles. Hell this is JSTARS 1992 watman.com
