I'm sure he's seeing something in the spread between futures and cash that makes him think the market is weakening here. When they have a chance to drive the market up, they almost always do. He sent me a message yesterday morning of something he saw in the spread that in the past has always led to 150-point gains in the Dow - yesterday was the first day those gains didn't hold. When the critical point came to prop up the market, the support wasn't there.

He figures the houses and PPT have only so much money to spend on the futures - and we're still six weeks or so from expiration. A lot of money has been tied up in these positions since September 24. His latest guess is that they'll probably try to create support at 9500.
