Mary - Re: "At the same time Jerry Sanders is his own worst enemy. "

That says it ALL.

Whenever Jerry does shortcut into the lead - or "luck into it", he kicks back, awards himself more options and struts his stuff before any audience he can find.

All the while, Intel does their best to recover and eventually outdistance him/AMD - and Mad Man Sanders is left with nothing but TRASH TALK for his competitor - Intel - which has just - for the umpteenth time - OUTFOXED him.

If you haven't WATCHED the AMD analyst call, I encourage you to do so. Go tot he AMD web site for details.

Watch the faces - the expressions - the BODY LANGUAGE - every one of the AMD presenters LOOKED - and ACTED - BEAT and DISILLUSIONED - even while spouting off their Holier-than-Thou "Value Proposition" message.

Paul

re: awful lot like the old Soviet space program
while point is well taken the example is way off, as far as space program goes US was considered an underdog.
Old Russian propulsion engines are almost legendary.
