Elmer - Re: "How long before Jerry sells off Flash? It could fund another year of losses."

Good question.

AMD is in a BOX with Flash - they have "partnered" with Fujitsu - which does all the wafer fab processing.

Thus, they probably can't sell it to anybody BUT Fujitsu - and Fujitsu - like all Japanese Semiconductor companies - is in a WORLD OF HURT.

AMD may have a tough time dumping that business.

FYI, re first silicon on 130 nanometer, I just listened to the AMD CC in part again, enough to catch the question about 0.13 micron. This in response to an AMDroid on another board.

Sanders said very clearly in answer to a question something like "so you're in production on 130 nanometer...?" that AMD is not in production on 130 nanometer yet, that they were still in the qualification phase, and that first silicon was coming up this quarter. Sanders said first Silicon was not achieved yet!

So what does that mean re first shipments, intro, volumes? Sounds like a big slip to me.
