It would take less spectrum if they moved to CDMA2000.



I for one am now rooting strongly for AWE to get to wCDMA as quickly as possible. Lots of base station royalties followed by same on expensive handsets. And maybe even some QCOM chips inside. Go AWE/ go wCDMA.
