I said I'd give it one more try and I did. I could try to explain it 100 different ways and I'm convinced I wouldn't make any progress.

Why is it that you have a problem with your nation (you're still an American citizen, right?) attempting to take action to prevent further attacks on its citizenry?

I don't have any problem with that.

Are you a total pacifist?

No. I wouldn't have spent a career in nukes and the military industrial complex being a pacifist.

What would you suggest we do in response to 9/11/2001? And "nothing" is not an acceptable answer. It's not acceptable to me and it's not acceptable to over 90% of US citizens.

Nothing is unacceptable to me as well.

The whole drift of these questions, seems to me, is that I have to either be in 100% agreement, or I have to be in 100% disagreement. I don't see the world that way.

At one point in time the Taliban was part of the good guys...when they were part of the Soviet-Afghan conflict; then they became the bad guys after Sept 11; now some of them have defected to the Northern Alliance and they are good guys again. Same people. They'll become the bad guys once again. Maybe this year, maybe the next, maybe in a decade.
