These copy/pastes can be boring...

Suppose it turns out that the actors in the anthrax case turn out to be good ol' white "christians"?
I wouldn't be at all surprised, actually. I'm half expecting something like that.

I'd place a bet on it myself.

I shouldn't assume that this was a rhetorical question. Ok, they were all Muslim. Now a question for you, what percentage of the Muslim world did they represent?
I don't know. Do you?
and I've been in the Middle East and talked frankly with some Arabs about this. They universally oppose the US policy in the region. Strongly oppose it. And hold the US responsible for their defeats in their wars with Israel. So you think maybe there might be a connection between those attitudes and 9/11/2001?

Well I do know that the polling numbers of Muslims in Britain supported the US well in excess of 90% immediately after Sept 11. I also know that the more current numbers of Muslims in Britain support the US on the order of 60%.

I haven't been too keen on our policy in the region for the last two decades.

Nobody in this country to my knowledge has advocated expulsion of Arabs or Muslims or their internment. What is being considered is a much higher level of scrutiny of visa applications from Arabs. Do you have a problem with that?

I've always thought there should have been a higher scrutiny of visas and the people coming into the country, irrespective of their nationality. There are terrorist groups of more nationalities than Arabs. At one time I tried a sell to the US Government on biometric technology to track and identify persons entering the country that were known terrorists or known international criminals, drug cartel, etc. I even had a vision that it could be adopted worldwide as a supplemental feature to passports. Silly me. No one was interested.

Ashcroft is coming pretty darn close with indefinite detentions based on self-certificaton.
