>Several tech firms have struggled recently to find the right CEO.

Ariba (ARBA: news, chart, profile) has had three CEOs this year. On Oct. 17, Robert Calderoni took over from Keith Krach, Ariba's founder and first CEO.

Krach was serving as interim CEO, after Larry Mueller's brief term from May 1 through mid-July. Both Mueller and Calderoni were promoted from within the firm.

And at Yahoo (YHOO: news, chart, profile) earlier this year, Terry Semel assumed the CEO role after a high-profile search to replace Tim Koogle at the Net media company's helm.
