I don't have the problems you have with this. Let me address the issues you raise: 1) Who cares if they are long the Dow. It is a small part of there overall market stance, which is still significantly short. 2) The length, time-wise, of the this proposed 4 is not an issue for me. Why would it be 3x as long as the 2? The 2 went from April/00 to Aug/00. 3) Widely followed. Yes, you and I and others we know have been following it for months. So what if every EWaver in the market universe is following it, which is not true, it still would account for less than a few percent of the more sophisticated participants.
