Dan,

Looks like AMD could rule the high performance laptop space in Q1/Q2. Also, Nvidia indicated on their CC that they will come out with a mobile nForce chipset. A 0.13u Thoroughbred combined with a mobile nForce chipset, would yield one heck of a laptop. Of course, nForce is Athlon only. Sorry Intel.

Pravin.

Dan, Re: "Since UMC uses IBMs process, I guess we know why AMD licensed design tools from IBM while they were developing their own process with motorola.

[From Taipeitimes Article] United Microelectronics Corp, Taiwan's second largest chipmaker, will work with IBM and Infineon Technologies of Germany to develop next-generation manufacturing technology for computer chips, UMC announced yesterday."

Do you realize there is a difference between UMC using IBM's process, and UMC working with IBM to define a process?
