Get off it, Professor John. Not only did you proclaim many moons ago that I seemed to need to have the last word (you then had what you thought was the last word), but you're also the one carrying Seymour Hersh's torch with many others here.

You claimed you don't have a dog in this fight, and you tried to ridicule those who would disagree with you (or Hersh). However, from the intensity and duration of your unusual interest in this, it seems clear that you do have a dog in this fight, although you haven't disclosed to us what your connection with Seymour Hersh is. Well, now it's time to disclose.

JohnM,

I thought Woodward's sources were the "bold champion of the people," and the ones that wouldn't talk to him the "weasely bureaucrat." <g> Woodward's detractors claim that if you won't open up to him you're liable to go down in history as the "sniveling, grasping rat" or whatever, and that's how he gets such access.

Just what his critics say, I don't know if there's any truth to that, or to the persistent rumor that you are yourself in fact: Bob Woodward!!!
