Thanks for the link. Ms. Pollitt seems to be an anti-war activist against "any kind of war" and perhaps her heart is in the right place. I think, in her piece, she is trying to play devil's advocate and get folks to think with less emotion at this very emotional time in our history. To sum my impressions up briefly, I agree with her in many ways but I think her writing style will piss more people off than not. I think her use of quotes around heroes was ill advised though I understand the equal employment point she is trying to make. I think she is describing some of the warts she sees in the USA and apparently isn't afraid to take the flak she is generating but I don't think she will make my list of favorite writers.
