Maui,

Very well said. Thank you! In the investment standpoint, Paul does make contributions to this thread, even though in a somewhat dramatic manner. I have never long Intel and never short AMD. I found nothing out of Paul that bothers me. About only thing that sometimes bothers me is that "irrational exuberance", as you pointed out.

Maui,All Engel brought was excessive noise, bad style and insults at all levels.
Whatever realities he brought with him vis-a-vis AMD were far more eloquently introduced by others with zero noise.
Bad news or good news it happens and needs to be reported with zero bias.
All this personal and corporate attack noise(bias) was a waste and in fact destroyed all the value he may have been able to add and ended up getting him booted off three times...and he never learned at all.
I am sure that some one with psychological skills might be able to give us a more accurate assessment of his illness( as I see it)

As to him being right far more than he was wrong? I do not believe that. He is a guy that stands in the sunshine and says it is raining. He says the same thing when it rains. Of course I mean about AMD he was constantly and persistently saying the same thing...doom gloom.
Since AMD would have gone from the planet 3-4 years ago if all he said was correct, I conclude Paul was not correct very often at all. AMD spent a lot more time in the sunshine than Intel has over the past 4 years....as shown by relative share and earnings. In fact AMD has come 'per ardua, ad astra', or though adversity to the stars in swimming upstream against everything the economy and Intel could throw at it(let alone Engel)

Sure AMD is smaller than Intel, we know that and that is part of why we like AMD, the scrappy little upstart that it is.
We carp at Jerry too, but he has gone further in life than I have and I dare say a lot further than Engel has.

Bill

John Re..). If one can find a way to look beyond his noise, <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Bingo. There you have it. Both you and Elmer have admitted that Pauls posts are abusive. You both suggest, it is up to us to filter his messages. But isn't that one of Mani's rules that the poster himself is supposed to clean up his own messages. Paul didn't follow the rules. It is as simple as that.

How could that possibly be true here on this thread as most of us had him on ignore; at least I did. I didn't hear him at all, because all of his noise ruined his message. Tench and Wanna do a far better job of getting the message across, as they are civil when they do it.
