Maui,In truth, neither AMD nor Intel are the right investment for you or most people. We are all trapped in a time warp and that may be due to our tech bias. The reality is that other startups that will grow into a defacto natural monopoly(Microsoft and Intel before commoditization set in) are out there and need to be recognised and invested in. We have all allowed ourselves to swim in a tiny mind pool as asps fell and commoditization set in.
That is where I place most of my funds, into gene based pharma companies, large and small. I also look for other plays with potential, like Isonics.

Actually, my financial program shows an average annual return for the last 4 years of 10.53% for Intel. Back in the go-go internet days, this may have been laughable, but it looks pretty good right now.
