On your IBM example.
Lets assume that a person had 100% of his money in IBM.
Lets assume another person controlled the same amount of shares via 6 month calls.
IBM drops in half.
The firts person lost 50% of his money.
The second person did not and is better off.
The second person might only have lost 15-25%.
He can try again at a much lower rate.
Now if the person is trying 1 month calls every month, that person is in trouble.

As for leaps, I do intend to load up in DEC on leap calls and I sure as hell hope we get that swoon Zeev is calling for.
