Dan,

First point, you state that Intel has to sell alot more than AMD. Well, Intel does. In addition to selling more uPs than AMD, Intel makes more money on each uP than AMD.

Gross Margins are extremely important in this "capital intensive" business. How do you think the "cost of goods sold" is calculated? The higher the GMs, the more efficient the process is.

Next, your indicator of "total valuation" is vague. What do you mean by total valuation?

Revenue per share???? How about revenue per employee. That is more of a standard indicator...

Dan, I am going to state this. Instead of trying to compare AMD to Intel, why not try to:

(1) Identify the problems with AMD
(2) Identify business opportunities that AMD can attack to be profitable
(3) Come up with possible solutions.

I'm here to make money as an investor. Intel, with their money in the bank and cash flow, is attempting to identify other market segments to continue their dominance. That is why I am invested in Intel and why I believe no investor should consider AMD.
