you have a very good point Mr. Stevenson... however, I did not say I am totally ignorant of Islam... I merely said that I do not know that much, and that what I know does not qualify me to answer some of the questions posted here... hence, the suggestion to do some reading… a suggestion I should myself heed.

what makes me defend Islam if I do not know that much about it ?

well, that is very simple really… I believe in it… the word Islam is a derivative of the Arabic word that means submission... and the meaning here is that a Muslim must submit to, and accept the will of God without reservations… many people do regardless of their faith, whether they are Muslims, Christians or Jews…

do you want to ask the question, why do I believe in Isalm ? that is also simple… there is a lot of evidence that there is a God… and the Qur’an repeatedly says what amounts to, look around you, don't you think ! if you disagree with that, then there is not much I can say or do so that you may understand where I come from

my reason for wanting others to find more about Islam is based on my belief that Islam is misunderstood and misrepresented... and that it does not harbor such animosity to anyone no matter what their faith (or absence of it) is as some portray it to... we all will have to answer to God one day...

when people take verses out of context or do not look into the reasons behind a verse they reference... am I wrong to assume that they are not really interested in leaning about Islam…especially when I look up the reasons behind such verses and post it to them … you know what happened in such instances ? I was accused of putting a positive spin on it… that is another reason for me to ask people to read so that I can not be accused of putting any spins on anything…

by the way, I can email you some power point presentations that show how an Egyptian Physicist was able to demonstrate that the speed of light can be calculated based on the Qur’an… also, an Egyptian physician was able to develop a cure for cataract inspired by verses from the Qur’an…

I hope that I've answered your question to your satisfaction for this is the all I can do...

Take care Mr. Stevenson
