DJ TECHNICALLY SPEAKING: Opportunities After Pullback

... But Richard Suttmeier, chief technical analyst at Joseph Stevens, says some stocks are still displaying momentum. ...

Suttmeier also likes Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD), which closed Thursday at 12.40, above its five week-modified-moving-average of 11.27 and making a move toward its 200-week-modified-moving-average of 17.47. Suttmeier feels AMD will make a successful run.

"Perhaps AMD will be shifting mobile Athlon4, mobile Duron, and low speed Athlon MP for high density servers to UMC. My guess is that the first processor out of UMC will be a mobile Appaloosa. "

That's the feeling I get.

Dale,

My guess is that the first processor out of UMC will be a mobile Appaloosa.

Appaloosa is supposed to be released in Q1/Q2 2002. For this to happen, AMD would have to have samples at about this time.

Somehow, I doubt it will happen that quickly.
