The most suspicious thing to me is the lack of emergency communications. If the engine had malfunctioned, the comm system should still have worked long enough to declare an emergency. Also, an eyewitness said they saw an explosion on the side of the plane, and part of the wing fall off. Of course, eyewitnesses often mistake what they see, or it all runs together in a case like this. At least they should be able to find the black box and get to the root of this one, and the engine is right there to be examined.
