Good question. There are so many applications on a Linux distribution, that I haven't found them all, yet, but I know that a Linux can even speek up the boot messages before the file system is activated.

I have recently read an article about a blind guy that uses Linux and is very happy with it. I know he uses some kind of braille hardware, and he wrote that he is extremely happy about that there are so many up to date textmode applications for e-mail, usenet, web browsing, sound, IRC chat etc.

But I'm not the one to ask.

Lars.
