To be specific, I would like to know the yield on junk bonds having an S&P rating of BB. Also it would be worthwhile to know what the yield is for investment grade BBB rated bonds.

I imagine since I am dealing with preferred stock instead of bonds, perhaps the longer term yields should be taken, like 20 year bonds, in order for this information to be relevant. But I do not know how this actually translates to preferred stock yields. I may have to sample preferred stock with equivalent ratings. Still I think the junk bond rating BB would at least provide an upper limit as an initial estimate on my part.
