Although I voted for Bush, at this point an accurate tally is impossible to compile due to previous counts and rough handling of the ballots. Florida is thankfully updating their voting equipment which should help in the future. The Gore camp goal of continued counting till they got the numbers they wanted was absurd and in my mind less accurate. Those here that refuse to move on, hurt not only themselves but the country. There will be another election in 3 years. A single administration is not going to change this country dramatically for the better or worse. Those that refuse to admit this need to grow up. * * *

Precisely what I said last year. With the election so close, and with there being all sorts of unsorted allegations (and not in Florida alone), it becomes impossible to decide with certainty who won based on the divination of voter intent. At that point, any reasonable mechanism to decide the election, as long as it abides by the rules, is valid. Thus, Bush won, fair and square.........
