Same thing happens when IBM releases a new mainframe or AIX million dollar machine. Customers like EDS find things a team of DV experts couldn't find in a hundred years, because you can't anticipate their or hundreds of others' configurations. It's not like PCs where it's like, how many ways can you configure it's OS, drivers and Mickey Mouse I/O, compared with the I/O on a big machine. It's a fact of life with big machines. Maybe you have to have been there, which obviously you haven't.

What do you mean about the Dirk part?

I mean I don't think Sledgehammer systems will see the light of day in serious customer situations, like that Swiss Bank one where Magee reports the Itanium problem.
