If it was an terrorist act commandeered from Afghanistan the orders were given long time ago possible even before the start of bombing. It takes time to plan and chose the right targets.

As such the perpetrator achieved his mission today but the Taliban are now far from were they were let's say September this year. They are running for their life due to US / UK heavy bombardment.

Last thing they would want now that the attack on them to intensify. Now what they are after is to get Pakistan backing and be in the new Afghanistan government. After all Pashtun are a majority in Afghanistan and substantial in Pakistan.

The diplomatic surprises only starts now as Russia and Pakistan will be at odds, Iran will not let Pakistan take over and India will not stay idle ......... and then we have China with their own Muslim problems not to mention Saudi Arabia who is loosing a country of influence and are fearful of Iran.

Should I go on ????

So far the NTSB reported in today's news conference

1. no internal uncontrolled failure signs on the engine

2. no evidence of "bird" intake or similar damage

3. there was no fuel dumping - this type of airplane can not dump fuel

4. in general terms the engines seem to be intact except the damage from the impact of falling on the ground

Well mechanical failure ?????
