--were hostages being held-- Right, the hostage crisis was over, so why were american's in government, with the likely knowledge of Reagan and Bush SR. covertly selling arms to Iran, when it was against United States law to do so. Then to use the profits from such sales to fund the contras, which was also against United States law to do so. And to lie to congress, about such activity. Please, Tom, I'm waiting for your cogent analysis and explanation of where the honor and the morality you hold in such high regard lie. So, I'm waiting, where's honor. -- One can argue about how smart this tack was to deal with terrorists. But it was not about self gain or self anything -- Tom -- there is an american (Pollock sp.) in jail for stealing american secrets and selling them to Isreal for "no personal gain" , he is considered a traitor. Explain how people who lie (some even under oath)(hand on the bible and all that) to congress and break United States laws are no different. Please I'm waiting for your cogent engineers analysis. -- --And I don't know if clear and present danger was or was not -- but you said you did know? So I don't understand how you do not know now. Or was that just grand-standing?
