Why do you claim that that the Taliban forces who emerged from their dug in position put up any fight. As to casualties. I don't know if all those Taliban who you think emerged to fight dug out all there buried martryrads so I don't know how many died and how many surrendered and how many died attempting to surrender. I don't know how many stayed to fight and how many retreated.

But I wonder at why you wonder why I know of or imagine any casualties. All I know is the a few thousand just recruited and trained and a rag tag assortment of old Russian armor advanced and overran the hard core fight to be martyrs Taliban as if they were not home. Funny behavior for all these hard core decades of fighting men with a mess in their pants and no toilet paper. And by the way there are no trees so they don't have leaves to use.

((<< ....so called evidence from those who have lived under accurately targeted tons of 500 lb bombs that arrive within seconds. >>

Evidence? Why yes, that would be the Taliban forces who emerged from their dug in positions to engage the Northern Alliance forces, thank you. ))

Engaged? They were running for their lives. Men on horses ran them down. You may want to be on the taliban front lines to see what is going on.
