<< Really. Be serious. When there is blood coming out of your ears it is hard to be brave.>>

That is flat not true. Have you ever even heard about anybody who has done heroic things? Heroism is not engendered by safe comfortable surroundings and lack of hardships. It always occurs in the most extreme of circumstances, and is even expected. Witness flight 77, for example. The only reason this did not occur on the other three flights is because flight 77 was the only one that realized they were in extremis.

Again, I have yet to see anybody provide one single bit of objective evidence that bombing has even come close to accomplishing what you simply assume it does. The evidence---the facts---demonstrate that you, sir, are simply flat wrong. If facing facts puts me on the low end of your "common sense scale", then I aspire to get lower.

<< ...how do a few thousand soldiers chase off 15,000 plus of Taliban's best? And why didn't they do it before we started bombing? >>

They tried. They failed. They got pushed back. Then the bombing began, and it accomplished as much as one could hope, which is that it gave them new-found motivation and perseverance. Prior to that, they were scared to mount an offensive. That is evident from the things the Northern Alliance leaders were saying to the press.

And since when has being outnumbered been the determining factor in any battle or war? The revolution which engendered this country we live in was instigated by a minority---yes, a minority---of little more than street thugs, and was never supported by the majority of the population in the colonies, and was vastly outnumbered by a technologically superior force. This is hardly an anomaly, but has recurred again and again and again.

So you might consider sliding considerably lower on your own "common sense scale" and face facts. Facts might not accord well with wishful thinking or fantasy, but they have one overarching advantage: they are true. It is not numbers or technologic superiority which is the primary determinant of the outcome at all. And the Northern Alliance victory bears this out.

JMVHO..... YMMV
