Interesting comment on the CIEN CC this morning. Telecordia is laying off 20 to 25 percent of its staff. That will slow down OSMIME certification. As a result if you are an equipment supplier and you have not got your product scheduled early and have it certified already, you will have a long wait before you can sell to the RBOC's. In the past, if you miss a product window by more than 12 to 18 months you can forget about it and go on to the next generation. This has an interesting effect ONIS has been spending a great deal on money on OSMIME certification and it looks like CIEN has Metro Director scheduled to certify by the end of this year or early next year.
