Russ,
It is like trying to decide between two great desserts or wines. That is why I own both. Please keep the information flowing. Thanks.
Tom

<BAY going it alone to develop a mine has to be of some concern. We have too many examples of where small undercapitalized miners get into quick trouble taking that route.>

Russ,

You are right. But there are many success stories (Richmont, Claude resources, Wheaton, Eldorado...). The issue is management. Look at the people hired by BAY in 2001. IMO, there is no worry at all with this startup.

< The likely exit strategy of MFL is what I prefer: takeover, or carried to production >

Indeed. An excellent path to success. But it is more demanding on the economics. Cause the senior who takes over must have enough goodies for the premium money it pays to the shareholders of the target companies. In other words, Dolores is less appealing to a Placer Dpome than it is to MFL. SInce MFL cannot develop it itself, Dolores has less value at the moment in the eyes of the investor.

I also like both quite a lot. But am convinced that the bettre part of our money must be in BAY. MFL will have its day, but I think it is too early. Possibly this will change when they start drilling El Malacate, but as far as Dolores is concerned, it is on park until higher metal prices.
