shorting:

just think of the money made by shorting ANY tech for example last year at the time....

or in Jan '01
or in June '01
or in August '01

now the stocks have bounced. shorting is far more risky now.(there are opps everyday just a bit harder to find)
that's why i'm not short any stock currently last couple shorts i took a loss on then went long the same stocks to ride them up

some stocks are worth holding a good long time, others like MSCC are just trading gifts.

nothing wrong with trading around the holders.
ORCL warned...lets see how the stock fairs today..

The market is showing signs of a real turnaround. Granted, yesterday's plane crash tanked the market in fear of another terrorist act. This will remain a danger. But the economic stimuli, the dramatic lowering of rates, the amount of cash on the sideline that will not be content with 1-2% money market rates, the beginning of some decent news from techs and retails, all bode for a significant bottom having been put in Sept 21st.
There needs to be a test of the lows at some point, but right now this market wants to go up. don't fight it or grab quick gains and watch the stocks continue to run, at least this is my strategy (to hold good stocks). good luck all. larry
