The deal with Iran was about getting scum in Lebanon to free several hostages there. Many at the time thought Terry Waite had negotiated their freedom, but it was the arms deals that made it happen. Waite when he found out went back and became a hostage himself. After that the government decided to just totally not negotiate and in a few years all hostages were released and the terrorist learned that kidnapping was no longer useful.

I don't know of anyone who was convicted of lying under oath except for mr. bill. Oliver North told the whole truth and was not convicted of anything. I don't know of anyone who lied under oath. Also the oath taken is to protect the Constitution and that's about protecting Americans. So making decisions to save lives and free those in captivity seems to me to provide a reason to ignore laws that get in the way of saving life. Saving life is a noble high ground.

Who lied under oath? Olie did not. Mr bill did and why.
