The numbers alone do not tell the story. How would you like to be running security at a facility where at least half the travellers are middle eastern in appearance? The thorough baggage checks are impressive. The quality of the security people is impressive. Its a well-run airport. Of course they have it that way out of necessity, since many a PLO extremist would love to blow up the whole damn airport. I would personally prefer privately managed security, but with very tough govt oversight. Look what private security with little or no oversight has gotten us so far.
