Good point... But taking all the various pieces of "evidence" in sum, I can see the reasons for not wanting to release these fellas too soon...

But I'm not the agent in charge down there, and not privy to any "special" intelligence they have on these guys.

If they weren't involved, I'm sure they will be released as soon as the Feds no longer have their reasonable doubts about their innocence.

Unfortunately, when the nation is at a state of war (which is officially what we're in, although only an authorization to use force, and not an official declaration of war has been passed by congress), the first thing to be diminished are rights of habeous corpus for non-citizens.

And I believe, if these folks are not citizens, although here legally, they can be detained for up to 12 months with no formal charges pending deportation hearings.
